First Sunday of Every Month Adventure

Hey everybody! thanks for coming back to Owlyday! I was thinking lately of what this post should be about and I figured out it could be about "El Mercado Urbano". 

This market takes place the first Sunday of every month at Ventana al Mar in Condado from 9 am to 5 pm, and is totally free. However, the parking is a pain, so I recommend you guys to park here (see image below). Though it's not free it's cheaper than the other parkings around. 

If you are not from the area (or you get easly lost like me) you can use google maps using the following address, Park La Ventana al Mar, 1054 Ave Dr Ashford, San Juan, 00907, Puerto Rico, to get there. But if you get lost you can always go to the beach! xD

Probably you are wondering now what they sell there...Well there is quite a variety of goods, and most of them are made in Puerto Rico. For example, I always go to the market to buy soap. It's made from Goat's milk and almond and smells amazing. It's so good it makes me go back every month! Drop by her booth you will not regret it! (This is her page). 

On the same area you will find a booth were they sell pineapples...correction GLORIOUS pineapples! I mean it tastes amazingly sweet and it's just 3$ for a glass of pineapple chunks...correction AMAZING pineapple chunks xD. They sell the whole pineapple also and they cut it for your right there in case you don't know how.

On the other hand, if you like sweet things with a little extra, there are like three booths were you could get Sangria brewed in Puerto Rico. My personal favorite is Tio Danny. it's quite good, you should give it a try! One bottle gives for like 3 glasses so you can have an idea ;)

There is also a booth where they sell cheese and yogurt made in Puerto Rico. I'm not a fan of the stinky white cheese, but the YOGURT! They sell PEANUT BUTTER yogurt!! And it is unbelievable! Who are the people that sell this deliciousness you ask? Here is the link.

I have say that I'm not a sunglasses person...but there is someone that sells wood sunglasses. But not with any wood, the glasses are made with wood of Puerto Rican trees and these are only made on Puerto Rico so you will be one of the few people yo get your hands on those. If you are a picky person like me they do customized sunglasses with no extra cost and it is done in one week approximately for you to pick it up. You can drop by their booth or page. 

On the other hand, they do some activities besides selling things. They have cross fit, zumba, yoga, and sometimes they also read to children so be sure to check the schedule before going! In conclusion, this is a good way to spend your Sunday plus if you get tired of browsing in the market you can always go to the beach. So bring your swimsuit!
